                                                              2017

January through (ongoing):  SuperGenius is updating various features on the web site.  There are going to be times that the site, or parts there of, are down or inoperative.  “Contact us” if you need something and can not find it!

January through May:  Yamhill River Pleistocene Project, updating fossil and artifact logs from summer floats.

July 02:  WE HAVE CASTOROIDES!  On the opening float of the summer, YRPP’s Mike Full found an incisor from the giant forest beaver (Castoroides) of the Pleistocene on the  South Yamhill River.  Dr. William Orr has verified the field identification, and it is the first identified Castoroides that we can verify came from the Willamette Valley!

July 08:  Fossil float for the winner of the ODFW Youth Outdoor Days “Win a Fossil Float”.  Not a real productive day: we only found one small piece of fossil ivory, but the kids had a great time swimming, splashing, catching crawdads on the South Yamhill River.

July 09:  Legion Park, Woodburn:  Woodburn Pleistocene and Institute for Archaeological Studies excavation starts.  Will last all week.

July 09:  YRPP; Fossil float with Richard Kimbell from NARG on the South Yamhill River.

July 17:  Mike Full and David Ellingson scuba the South Yamhill at the McMinnville Mammoth Site.

July 22:  Dr. Alison Stenger, PhD and Mike Full float the South Yamhill at the McMinnville Mammoth Site.

July 29:  Dakota Parker and Mike Full hit the South Yamhill River.

July 31st:  Richard Kimbell from NARG and Mike Full float the South Yamhill River.

August 02:  The “Marine Science Ruffians” from OSU, Hatfield Marine Science Center, NOAA, join Joanie Livermore and Mike Full on the South Yamhill River, searching for Castoroides!
