“Ask an Expert” will provide a basic reference to help you identify a fossil or artifact from the Willamette Valley area.  The page will provide a list of contacts, detailing their fields, such as geology, paleontology, archaeology of the Willamette Valley.  We can also refer you to someone who can answer your basic questions on the legality of digging, collecting, possessing, removing fossils or artifacts.

PLEASE –  This is a volunteer service for someone who has a genuine interest in our pre-history, not an appraisal service!  YOU WILL NOT GET an appraisal, a value, a letter of authentication.
